I'm a stepdad to a great kid who's twelve now. I've tried hard. I really have.
The part that's ground me down is that every time I set a boundary or a consequence, my wife tells him in front of me that "that's not really Dad's call to make," When I asked her to back me up just once, she said it's complicated because I'm not his "real" parent, like that settles something instead of just naming the wound. I love this kid. I don't know how to keep loving him from a position she keeps reminding me isn't real.

@streetlifer1 You need to have a sit-down with your wife. Open your heart, worries to her. No need for arguments. Just tell her how you feel about her approach and ask her suggestion as well, she will come to realize the problem as well.

Is what I notice, not what I am being told. Even my father cheated on my mom, and as children, me and my brother knew and even went in that place to ask my father to come home. They are still together now, but there is no denying that it happened. Most marriages men are not satisfied and want more. And i can see why. I don't deny that women also do it, but overall, they are more faithful and less desperate than us to get laid.
English

Wrong Danny ,
that is what you been told for years.. In media , movies and on tik tok..
The amount of cheating in marriages started sky rocketing the moment women started getting in the work environment beginning 90's ...
You are being told what women want you to think... Just like sacrificing babies ... being called
women health care..

@ayesha_fatiima The slop-damage is enough as it is. Don't ask them to slop those things and implode the computer universe

These women thing they can live it down, that they can live a normal life after that?
Now they sow momentary pleasure, but later they will reap regret and sorrow.

At 22, I moved to London barely speaking English.
I worked as a fish cutter in a sushi restaurant chain. It was cool because i was one of the first women in that role.
Not because I had to.
Because I wanted to learn English and see the world.
The funny thing?
It paid better than any office job I could have gotten back home in Spain.
Over the next two years, the company kept promoting me.
Better titles. More responsibility. More money.
But I realized I didn’t want to climb that ladder.
London was exciting…
but the city, the stress, and the routine weren’t the life I wanted.
So I bought a one-way ticket to Southeast Asia.
That’s where I fell in love with scuba diving.
To keep traveling, I did whatever jobs I could find: waitress, VIP manager, babysitter…
anything that funded the next trip.
At 29, I became a scuba instructor.
I thought I’d finally found my dream life. Scuba diving and living in places around the world.
Then covid hit.
The dive industry collapsed overnight.
So I did something I never imagined.
I learned to code because I wanted to build a scuba app.
I worked as a developer for a couple of years.
Honestly, I wasn’t lucky.
The companies I joined invested very little in junior developers.
One mentor even told me I’d never build successful products and make a living from my own apps.
I knew he was wrong.
Today I’m 35.
I live from the products I built myself.
My revenue isn’t millions.
But it’s enough to travel the world, pay my bills, and wake up excited to work every day.
Looking back, every detour made sense.
If you’re in your 20s and feel like you’re behind… don’t panic.
Life rarely follows the plan you imagined.
Sometimes it writes a better story than the one you had in mind.
