We last won the FA Cup in 2020. That season we finished 8th in the Premier League, and knocked out of the Europa League in RO32 (prime banter era) I'd take any of the last 3 seasons over the above. Being in a title race and competing deep in the UCL is so much more enjoyable.

Sadly we live in a world where our phone buzzes the second a goal goes in. Gillette Soccer Saturday will be next.

7 years ago today, Unai Emery controversially started Carl Jenkinson & Dinos Mavropanos as Arsenal lost 3-2 at home in a crucial game against Crystal Palace in the Top 4 run in. Before this game, Mavropanos had 1 Premier League start that entire season, while Jenkinson had only started 1 Premier League game in the last 2.5 years. Many journalists have said they thought they were being pranked when they were shown the line up. This was part of a run where Arsenal were 3rd but only picked up 4 points out of a possible 18 from 6 games, which meant they would finish 5th.

@_Afcbanks Because we never had the steel to go all the way. We could score goal of the season each year at home to bottom half clubs, but when it really mattered we simply weren't good enough..

@feroze17 That lineup should beat Southampton. But it felt like the players "expected" to turn them over. This wasn't a Southampton side bottom of the PL with 8 points. It was a side winning most weeks, playing for promotion and brewing with confidence, which I think Arsenal missed.
