I'm genuinely not being hyperbolic when I say that this finale, specifically Reality War, is one of the worst (if not THE worst) episode of Doctor Who
On a personal level, I have not rewatched this since May 31st 2025 - and I usually watch each episode 3-5 times after it airs

Oh come on. It's so sad how the era ended, and that we didn't see the story as intended... ...but isn't Wish World/The Reality War a genuinely amazing finale? 😍 It feels like an unintentionally great conclusion to 15's era. The Rani is EPIC, and there's so much to enjoy 🙌💙💙

@philnewmandsign I just like the fact we have an explicit date. This doesn't happen often in the show - but also yeah the End of the World scene with Jackie has to be pre-Rose

@Danny_10477 Surely it didn't need confirmation. The contemporary Earth eps after Aliens of London, take place from 2006 onwards. The only short scene possibly from before "Rose" is during End of the World when Rose calls Jackie from the future. Her reaction suggests Rose isn't "missing" yet

I don't know if it's ever been confirmed before, but now we know Aliens of London is (or should be) set on the 6th March 2006

Jumping a year, late April or early March of 2006 is when Owen's fiancée Katie is killed. Owen searches for Jack relentlessly, and when they meet again, Owen is offered a place at Torchwood 3 Two weeks into the job, Tosh has to cover for him. Dealing with 'space pig' from WW3

@LukeFlux1 The timeline was a mess under RTD1 - especially with SJA.
Moffat fixed it back in 2010 (Series 5/6 are set in their years) but Series 7 screws that up immediately.
Series 10 almost fixes it, but the Monk Trilogy puts the latter half in 2018.

@Danny_10477 Don’t know why but I never clocked it. I always assumed, despite the year Rose was missing, that each series took place in the year they came out.
Series 1: 2005
Series 2: 2006
Series 3: 2007
Etc.

Revisited Engines of War this past week and it is an amazing sequel to Day of the Doctor, and the work that Big Finish has done for the Time War only makes it better. If I were to recommend anything War Doctor, it's this. PLUS the audiobook is voiced by Nick Briggs - so Daleks!

27 Chapters later and I have finally completed a War Doctor I am very proud of. A prequel to Engines of War and an odd to the past 10 years of Time War audios!
