3A BBB: On the court, Coolidge stayed focused and closed out Snowflake to punch their ticket to the state title game. Next up: Palo Verde for the championship.
Palo Verde advanced to the 3A title. Defeated Benjamin Franklin 52-48. Kameron Pippen scored 16 & Daniel Ortiz had 16 rebounds and 15 points for PV. Landon Christensen (24 points) made 6 threes for Ben Franklin. Final minute highlights:
No. 5 Palo Verde (23-5) will play in the 3A semifinals Friday morning at 9 against No. 1 Franklin (26-4) at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix. Two of the top Titans are senior wing/guard Daniel Ortiz (18.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 3.0 steals per game) and junior point guard Kameron Pippen (leads state with 7.4 assists per game).
