Firsthand experience. I work as a DOD contractor. Very earlier on when Covid first began to sweep through the US, civilian numbers were still very low, but it was running rampant through the garrison. Their infection rates were never released. There is more but I’m going leave it at that.

97% of the US military (~1.3 million) was fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by 2022. The hospitalization rate in 2021 was the 3rd lowest rate of the past decade. The hospitalization rate in 2022 was the lowest rate of the past decade. COVID-19 accounted for 1.5% of hospitalizations in 2021 and dropped 70% to under .5% in 2022. The vaccine caused durable reductions in the rate of COVID-19 hospitalizations. Cancer hospitalizations in 2020 and 2021 were identical & went down in 2022. There was no rise in "turbo cancer". There was no measurable rise in circulatory system, immune disorder or nervous system hospitalizations. No rise in heart attacks. No rise in sudden deaths. The majority of hospitalizations were related to mental health disorders or pregnancy. The vaccine definitely has adverse effects but didn't cause an epidemic of mass mortality. Can you explain this in our upcoming debate tomorrow @stkirsch? How does this fit with your theories?

📢 New study reveals concerning trends in healthcare use and costs following COVID-19 infection. Even among non-hospitalized individuals, medical expenses surged, particularly in blood-related, neurologic, and psychological conditions. With nearly 50% of healthcare costs covered by employers, it's clear that COVID-19 cannot be ignored. It's time for the business community to prioritize surveillance, testing, vaccination, and treatment. Our economy hinges on taking action. #COVID19 #HealthcareCosts #BusinessResponsibility cidrap.umn.edu/covid-19/healt…

A small milestone in the "moving on from Covid" narrative that all of us are working thru... I changed my X profile pic from Covid tweeting to recent @UCSFDOM retreat on AI. Doesn't mean "Covid is over" (it's not) but does mean that it's no longer my primary professional focus.

@SarahBarleyMc My friends take “1” single test, if that’s negative they snuggly say “told ya it was a cold” and out they go into the public to spread it.

I’ve had symptoms and tested negative for 8 days now…then today this. This is the 4th time I’ve had Covid. What’s the point of all the much campaigning and advocacy!!?? SO fed up.

Maria Van Kerkhove, World Health Organisation (Jan 2024): “5 years from now, 10 years from now, 20 years from now, what are we going to see in terms of CARDIAC impairment, PULMONARY impairment, NEUROLOGICAL impairment?" This is an important message. Are you paying attention?

🧵World’s leading long-COVID researcher, Ziyad Al-Aly, MD, whose realism, rationality, compassion, and integrity were on full display when he testified yesterday before a U.S. Senate committee, reinforced why it’s necessary to prevent long COVID and gave hope for the future. 1/x

@Realist87982417 "The COVID-anxious cult is becoming less relevant as times goes on and more people move on." COVID-cautious community is becoming less relevant to #COVID19 deniers/minimizers as increasing numbers of deniers/minimizers develop #longCOVID multi-organ damage and chronic diseases.

@stevenrosskerr I approached you for clarification of the data from your study which showed that 7,000 Covid hospitalisations & deaths could have been averted if more people had been vaccinated. Quite frankly, I wasn’t expecting to be met with comments about vaccine-related injuries…
Cat in the Hat 🐈‍⬛ 🎩 🇬🇧 tweet media
Steven Kerr@stevenrosskerr

@_CatintheHat The number of vaccine doses required in an age band to avert one serious event can be rather large. And given that protection offered by the vaccine is fairly transient, is it averting an event, or delaying it? You also have to take account of vaccine related injuries.

@_CatintheHat Ok I've seen more than enough now. You are distorting research findings that you have zero understanding of to the point of falsehood. You should stop. Now.
Cat in the Hat 🐈‍⬛ 🎩 🇬🇧@_CatintheHat

@stevenrosskerr Let me be open about why I’m asking this… The government purchased millions of vaccines to give to 50-65 year olds, but then chose to withhold them on the basis of a cost-effectiveness analysis which suggested it would only avert 140 hospitalisations (10 ICU) & 10 deaths.
