I see the youngins on the TL trying to understand “the beef” between MJ & Prince. I think you had to be there. It’s wasn’t a beef so much as a frenemy rivalry. They deeply respected each other and were each other’s only peer. Their competition made them each better.

They were all talking about on the way home Prince sat in the back of a limo silent the whole ride. Chapter is called “August 1983 studio sessions”
