@Imonaar Most people here don't get it.Yes SHA approves a patient A and gets treated, but the next patient B even with approvals from SHA ain't treated since the hospital doesn't have medicines for treatment and the cycle continues. So yes for every 10 approvals 2 are treated and 8 ain't

@_DiabloGato @KipsambuT @ed_kemboi The same doctors are actually frustrated...public hospitals ain't working and most of them wanaamua kuenda private hospitals to practice. The govt needs to work on is getting specialists on cancer treatment as a whole, equip hospitals with machines and things will change

Yesterday’s parliamentary committee session with SHA officials confirmed what many had feared. The system is already under serious financial strain and may not be sustainable in its current form. Collections are too low to support operations, let alone settle claims. This explains why many Kenyans are now struggling to access services despite being “registered.” Out of the over 29 million people the government says are enrolled, fewer than 4 million are actually paying premiums. This is exactly what some of us warned about last year: You cannot build a contributory health system on populations that simply cannot afford to contribute consistently. Now we are sliding back to NHIF-era problems, arguably worse. Even more concerning is evidence of leakages, including payments linked to questionable or non-existent (ghost) facilities. That means the little being collected is not only insufficient, but it is also at risk. At this point, this is no longer just a policy failure. It is a governance failure. And when a government cannot sustain healthcare, cannot protect public funds, and cannot be honest about the numbers, it loses the moral authority to lead. At that point, this govt must go
