Today my beautiful bride escaped the bonds of earth to rest with Jesus. No more suffering. No more physical restraints. She’s free again to dance. The last three weeks brought a deep hurt to my heart. But it was also beautiful. We laughed. We talked about friends and family. She was never in any great pain. In the first week at home she got to eat many of her favorite foods before it became difficult. She smiled 99% of the time. Only once did she become angry. We moved her to a hospital bed for 24 hours. But upon hearing several times “ put me back in my bed” we gave into her determination. There was never another complaint. Her sense of humor with a little sarcasm stayed in tact. I was feeding her mashed potatoes last week. I told her “I made these for you!” She replied “I know they’re lumpy”. I’ve been around several people in their final days and witnessed how they suffered. Not Becky. She went peacefully. As I’ve said before it was a true Bulldog marriage as we met in Sanford Stadium at halftime of the Clemson game in 1986. Her last game was the Rose Bowl in 2018. Now, she has the best seats in the house for every game! Wife, I love you! RIP Funeral will be 3pm Saturday at Darby Funeral in Canton with visitation beginning at 1pm. (below our first road trip to Jacksonville in 1987 and our last to the Rose Bowl in 2018)

Alright. Just woke up in Chicago, another Nicky Smokes/Annika hookup. Umm… pretty awful news to wake up to. Umm… First most important thing, it seems like everyone’s ok. That’s obviously number one. Umm… it’s just really sad. You know taking off the journalist hat a little bit, umm… think a lot of us grew up idolizing this guy Smokes and this is not what we want to see him in the news for. The fact that his body’s in this condition, the fact that he continues to go back to his ex it seems like in circumstances like this. He seemed so good at Sox Opening Day just a couple weeks ago. Happy, engaged. I think we all just want to see Nicky happy and well. He’s provided us with so many incredible moments and memories. Yeah, it’s just a huge bummer. It’s just really really sad. That’s really all there is to say. I wish he would pull new birds. But I think being with Annika is where he can feel like kind of normal and you know, in control. Probably gets moments of peace. But umm… certainly doesn’t seem like it’s a good decision. You know, he said just a couple days ago, he was working on trying to pipe at Tortilla Con. It all seems so small now when stuff like this happens. It’s just horrible. It’s just horrible. Just bummed. That’s really all there is to it. I mean, I’m sure more information is gonna come out… specifics… it’s probably not gonna be pretty. Umm… Just another thing. Another… twist that a lot of us never wanted to see. Yeah, that’s kind of all I got to say @barstoolspringb

Obviously a lot of talk about the overtime of Bills vs Broncos. Here are my thoughts on all of the big rulings down the stretch: No Flag for PI on Denver I support the decision to not flag Denver on the fade route. Is there contact? Sure, but it’s a play on to me. Interception or Catch? The interception is a wild play, with a lot going on. Seeing it full speed, I thought it was an interception and would’ve ruled it that way if I was on the field. My perspective on it is that Cooks lost the ball as soon as his body hit the ground. In my opinion, if there was no defender near him and he lost the ball when he hit the ground, the ruling would’ve been incomplete. I would have liked to see the game stopped for a more formal review, with an announcement from the referee on exactly how they ruled. Pass Interference #1 on Bills I didn’t think this was a foul. It was, to me, the same play that happened the drive before with Denver and didn’t warrant a flag. Noting that on that play there was a flag for Roughing the Passer too, so Denver still would’ve got a first down. Pass Interference #2 on Bills Clearly correct and pass interference.
