Revelations got me replaying the modern Doom trilogy and man, what absolute corkers. id Software could've easily coasted on 2016's success. Instead every entry stands on its own and fully commits to a singular vision. Stunning run of games, which makes the layoffs even sadder.

After all these layoffs at id Software and supposed development of another DOOM game I believe it’s best and also safe for the team to develop a recreation of the classic DOOM (1993) and DOOM 2 (1994).

I know “technically” we know what happens next because of DOOM 2016’s Codex, but I REALLY want to see this storyline properly concluded and tied into 2016. Another full game + DLC ending with The Slayer being trapped within the sarcophagus feels like the natural next step.
