@SPC_HC2 @BDoomguy59967 I'd say you are incorrect because they have been meticulously animating his face behind the helmet even back in Eternal for the helmetless skins. Here is another example of him looking dazed and somber by how much his old world was changed post civil war.

Hell Colosseum & The Flay Early on in the BlueSky phase of DOOM: The Dark Ages | Revelations I had the opportunity to explore what a Hell Colosseum could look like. I took the core idea and experimented with some ideas and landed on this idea of it being suspended in a giant hell volcano's caldera after some earlier less exciting iterations. To make the overall design more interesting , I took a common visual motif in ancient colosseum depictions: sunshades. Demons probably don't need sunshades so why would they be there? So I came up with 'The Flay' , as in flayed: The Flay: The Sewn together skin and flesh of every challenger who entered his arena and failed. “What at first appeared to be decorative elements or shades…. In reality it was a thousand years of skin, a thousand miles long” I am thankful we had a chance to explore ideas like this and even though this concept didn't make it into the final game. I am glad I got to try design stories like this and ultimately it was a great exercise & practice.
