You could have: Closed early for a loss and let stock run if you were convinced that would happen. You could have already rolled to a different strike and date so you can capture more upside. You could have used the premiums to buy a leaps. You could just let the shares get called away and wipe your fake tears with the profit. Let’s be real. Only reason we sell calls in he first place is bc we don’t believe said stock is going on a heater. Also, if you had not sold the calls, would you be selling shares right here? Probably not. Then what do you tell yourself when you ride the stock all the way back down? Do you post the downside of owning shares and not selling at the top? In other words, there is no crying in the casino.
