Darkblock | Token-bound Content

Unfortunately Darkblock will be shut down very soon. The content will be forever on Arweave, encrypted, but access will be lost when the DB network goes away. We were unable to find a way to decentralize the tech enough to keep it going. Reach out on Discord if you have questions

When it comes down to it, no one cares about decentralization. Like me, maybe you were drawn into crypto because decentralization, economic freedom, and creator autonomy were exciting concepts (and still are). And maybe, like me, you over indexed on using those terms when talking about the app or protocol you're building. But work in crypto long enough and you realize (or remember, if you worked on products in web2) that people don't use a product for philosophical reasons. People use products that... ➡️make their lives easier ➡️solve persistent problems ➡️save them money ➡️make them money Your job as a builder is to identify the immediate benefits your product provides and hammer those whenever you talk about what you're building, whether on your website, on socials, or in conversation. Repeatedly saying your product enables the "decentralization" of this or that won't lead to success. Finding, engaging, and keeping users (because you solve an immediate pain point) leads to success. It's not selling out to take a capitalist approach. If we're successful at using blockchain tech to benefit users, we can rest free knowing that decentralization, economic freedom, and creator autonomy will be the future dividends of our work.

@rareperkins Definitely not. People still think they're JPEGs. In the future, NFTs will simply be the container for all forms of multimedia files - ebooks, videos, music tracks, GLBs, etc. That's what we're building at @darkblockio
