‘We won’t accept in any longer’ - Fianna Fáil’s youngest TDs hit out at leadership following protests businesspost.ie/politics/we-wo…

Why do we all have to collectively lie and pretend this individual is qualified to be a legislator?

@VirginMediaNews This is of course being the “leader” who spends the vast majority of his day making TikTok’s in order to appear to younger demographics. Lots of volume from him, very little action.
English

Commenting on the recent fuel protests, Tánaiste Simon Harris said that in the age of social media algorithms, it is “easy to mistake volume for consensus”.
He made the remark during a Government confidence vote.

@JohnOBrennan2 Yet you’re the one claiming a sitting TD doesn’t meet “real” people initially. My comment was in response to your initial one, I’m sure you meet plenty just like you!
English

@Darragh1991 That’s right. I never, ever encounter any ‘real’ people in Kildare. Do you people even listen to yourselves as you spout this nonsense?
English

@DarraghOBrienTD Frontline workers and bus drivers being hammered by a high tax burden. Why is transport not being made cheaper to promote less use of fuel and support public transport for the duration of the crisis? Come on man, stop being reactive be proactive for once!
English

Minister for Communications Patrick O'Donovan is no longer seeking a review of media coverage of fuel protests despite his comments yesterday

@ConorHogarty Rinse and repeat same as when Harris was under pressure in the summer. Fake attention seeking shite.

@TJ_FactCheck Where can we see the fact checks on scoliosis promises made by Harris? Children’s Hospital building made by Varadkar? Far right leading the demonstrations on fuel? lol don’t think so as you are government funded and therefore not objective. Pathetic.
English

False claims Micheal Martin was at his daughter’s wedding as protests were broken up were spread online over the weekend.

@MichealMartinTD Arrogant beyond believe! Just take your snotty job in Europe and do us all a favour and leave. Out of touch, lacking in empathy and a completely arrogant man.
English

@rayofoghlu Don’t worry not a chance any of them would speak to you for that long. Stick to shagging trees.
English

@thejournal_ie And right at the end of the article “The Journal’s Gaeltacht initiative is supported by the Local Democracy Reporting Scheme”
Don’t bother reading folks another puff piece lauding our supreme leader.

The Taoiseach had a full schedule for a day spreading good news in his home county - but it didn't go entirely according to the original script. jrnl.ie/7008249t
English

@SK_00001 Can you compare healthcare? Housing? Wages? Social support? Services and infrastructure too? And try not to resort to calling people “idiots” while doing so?
English

@JohnJJumbo1 @thejournal_ie The dail is on holiday so that would be utterly pointless John. Everyone is struggling to get by thanks to the government and their insane policies e.g. Carbon tax etc…..again if you don’t like protests fuck odd to Syria, Congo or wherever you wish and see how you fair.
English

@Darragh1991 @thejournal_ie One thing to protest, it's another thing to block people who are also struggling getting to & from work, hospital appointments, interviews etc let the block the entrance to the Dail, the Aras, you won't be saying that when they discommode you & you're out of pocket.
English

Do you support the protests? Has your opinion changed since they began? Have you had to change plans or reschedule appointments?
jrnl.ie/7008002

English

@caulmick The government have shown month after month that they couldn’t care less. People protested in the summer over children dying due to scoliosis delays and they couldn’t give a fuck. Why would anyone bother contacting them or asking for representation after that?
English

The irony of Justice Minister, Jim O’Callaghan pleading with people to funnel their anger on the cost of fuel through their representatives in Dáil Eireann while they are on holiday for 19-days. Do they ever listen to themselves.

English

@Dublinmarti The government can end it all with one phone call.
English

Probably saved hard for a little holiday away and this is how it’s going. Absolutely disgraceful holding ordinary decent citizens to ransom like this.😡😡

@MichealMartinTD Social media Taoiseach, please do us all a favour and just take some gig in Europe. We are sick of your inability to do anything, literally anything bar call an inquiry or respond to the days trending topics. So out of touch it’s extraordinary.
English

@CorkGourmetGuy Sure your industry got a massive VAT bailout starting July 1st? Does that now impede your ability to protest?
English

Remember that these farmers who are protesting about the cost of diesel at the garage forecourt are actually, even now, paying about €1.60 a litre for their already heavily subsidised diesel that your taxes are funding.
