My edition of The Cats’ Pause came in today, and so did the 2026 football yearbook.🏈😼
As much as I love the digital world we live in (it’s literally how I built my career and my brand around UK sports), there’s something about this showing up at my door that takes me right back.
Back to coming home from school and hearing my Nana say, “Your Cats’ Pause came in.” And there I was for the next few hours, glued to those pages.
Now? Every single year, I still order the yearbook. I put the phone down, no notifications, no distractions, and just read. In 2026, that’s a rare feeling. And an awesome one.
Huge shoutout to my now good friend Darrell Bird for keeping this tradition alive. If you’re a Kentucky fan, do yourself a favor and go grab one.
And it all comes full circle, because Oscar Combs, the founder of The Cats’ Pause, laid out the pathway for people like me to make it in the BBN as a media member. Reading it as a kid. Covering the Cats as an adult. Pretty cool.
