Finally - Full time web3. A little introduction, if you don't know me 👇🏼 Hi, I'm Maya - A Psychology graduate who stumbled across this space in December of 2021, meaning I’ve been in web3 for a little under 2 years. Going into web3, I managed to taste a little bit of the bull. I gained a few things: friends, memories, money. Lost a few things: time, energy, sleep, hair (money goes in this department too 🤣) Do I regret any of it? Absolutely not. —————————————— But WHY? Cos 2 years on, regardless of how cringe it sounds, I found a home away from home. A place of knowledge, a place of happiness and a place of ambition. Juggling a few positions in web3, whilst I was committed to a full time therapist job working for the NHS, things started to get a bit hectic, and I found myself leaning towards one more than other. See, I’ve always been pretty academic, pretty good with words and pretty good with people. I have loved every second of working as a therapist, but could I be happier in this given moment? Absolutely. —————————————— Last Friday was my last day of work after handing in my 8 week resignation. What does this mean for me? It means after 2 years of thinking about it, trying to make things work, I am finally full time web3. Now this doesn't mean that I'm saying bye to therapy forever. This is me saying - let me try. —————————————— See, speaking to people from web2, most people thought I was crazy. I voluntarily left a stable income, pretty well paid, and according to the books, I was pretty lucky to get a job straight after grad. They told me not to, told me I'd regret it, told me it wasn’t smart. What wasn't smart, is me getting to 80 and thinking “I wish i tried.” Speaking to friends in web3, really put things into perspective. In this space, its full of ambition, full of people who don't fit the status quo and full of people who have bet their life on trial and error. So I choose to side with trial and error. —————————————— As I start this new journey and chapter of being full time web3, I ask myself just one thing - to try my very hardest. No pressure, no regrets, just trial and error. Yes I took a risk, and yes - to 99% of people who knows me, I'm making a mistake. But for myself, I’m making the smartest decision I think I ever have. I have such conviction in the space and how fruitful it can be. This is me saying I’m ready to take it all on. Grateful for all the people who pushed me to do what my heart desires ❤️ —————————————— Cos hey, what’s a life without risks, right?

Approximately 2 years after minting for .03 eth, @pudgypenguins announced that they would be having a booth at San Diego Comic Con 2023. But WHY San Diego Comic Con? 👇🧵 ———————————————————————— 130,000 people. Yes - 130k people on average each year visiting the largest pop culture event in the USA. The event has gained so much traction and high number of visitors that they had to start to include local hotels and outdoor parks to accommodate. ———————————————————————— With Pudgy Penguins IP expanding extensively - including thousands of GIFs and Stickers uploaded onto Giphy, accumulating over 5.7 billion views across 2 accounts, some attendees who were not familiar with NFTs still had a connection to the penguins through the gifs and videos. ———————————————————————— @ppmcghee showed us best. → Mothers dressed in Captain Marvel costumes. → Animal lovers with penguin tattoos. → Those already in web3 communities but never seeing the spirit of the huddle. ———————————————————————— It’s interesting to see how the Pudgy Penguin community continues to expand their IP, and even more so to see how the Huddle expands along with it.
