When I was a child, I wanted to become an astronaut. Seeing these photos over the past couple of days has been a dream, and has recaptured some of the magic that I used to feel reading all of those astronomy books 🌍🌌

Sky full of stars. Following a successful lunar flyby, the Artemis II astronauts captured this breathtaking photo of our galaxy, the Milky Way, on April 7, 2026.

Make new friends, but keep the old. A new photo captures the Moon's near side on the right (the side we see from Earth, identifiable by its dark splotches) and its far side on the left. The Artemis II crew are the first to see the far side with human eyes.

We see our home planet as a whole, lit up in spectacular blues and browns. A green aurora even lights up the atmosphere. That's us, together, watching as our astronauts make their journey to the Moon.

1972 ➡️2026 Apollo 17 ➡️ Artemis II

Making an impact isn’t about hoping, it’s about doing. A tree cannot hope to grow, it completes the required biological processes to grow. Take the required steps in your life and you will get to where you want to go and do what you want to do.
