As someone who's been close to the @saintmaryshoops program for years, you knew at some point this would come. Either Randy would retire from SMC or make the jump. He's an amazing coach and tremendous person, happy he gets to go "home" and make jump to P4 conference.

BREAKING: Arizona State is finalizing a five-year deal with Saint Mary's Randy Bennett to make him the Sun Devils' next head coach, sources told me and @PeteThamel. Bennett is an Arizona native who has led Saint Mary's to 12 NCAA tournament appearances since taking over in 2001.

@roxybernstein @saintmaryshoops He should have stayed in California. No disrespect to him (yet) but asu just plain old sucks. The fan base just wasn't there for Hurley and playing a B12 schedule is hard for a school like asu.

Not ideal for the Diamondbacks to not have a left-handed reliever in the bullpen but the lefties they have just did not get it done in spring training. Brandyn Garcia had one clean inning, walked too many batters. He will go down work on his delivery and try to work his way back - he has great stuff. Having a left-handed reliever who is only good vs left-handed hitters not what it used to be, can't just bring them in for one batter (unless last out of an inning) so unlikely the Dbacks would add a LH reliever (Lucchesi for example) who fares well vs lefties but gets pummeled by righties.
