This month, we’re participating in #Blocktober, highlighting the work of our talented Level Designers. Now up: Sebastian McBride sharing a behind-the-scenes look at the “Dicky Twister Club” location.​​ ”This blockout was done relatively quickly around the middle of the project. I wanted a location where the player could lean into a non-hostile experience that they could walk around in before switching up to more traditional stealth gameplay. The goal was to embrace the tone and vibes of stealth game staples but done the Cyberpunk 2077 way. The idea of the main office overlooking the whole club was something I leaned into early on. The moment you enter the club, the objective is right in front of you: you see your goal and now you have to figure out how to get there. The club owner overlooking the location with the stage “'extending” out in front of him was absolutely intentional innuendo. I guess he had a bit of a complex. 🙂” Sebastian McBride: @Darthsebious

@Tokenn @CyberpunkGame I'd say it was a subtle thing but the stage is about 15 meters long, so yeah... 😄 I had a good chuckle when I showed it to people during development.

@CyberpunkGame 😏 I guess my mind isn't dirty enough to appreciate all the aspects of this location.🙄😜 But on first encounter, it's a pretty tricky stealth mission, and I always enter through the back door. [cough].

@reidatcheson @CyberpunkGame Yeah, a bit more context from me. It was also a consideration to make this place big enough for players to just start shooting if they chose to. All furniture was set to our own cover metric height if you decided to play that way.

@CyberpunkGame Oh man İ absolutely wreck this place and disregard the stealth aspect of it. Padre is a psycho though and never seems to care how you accomplish anything, quotes scripture approvingly every time.

Did I stay up late for the @linkinpark stream? Yes. Am I a destroyed tired mess at the office today? Yes. Was it worth it tho? Also yes.
