@ShyoWager people literally spend hundreds for an account that is radiant, and now it will take half the time it normally takes for boosters to get to that RR. it doesn’t matter what we think, they get the only reward in the game (the gunbuddy)

I believe these changes were made to incentivize people to tryhard in ranked, and have something to play for. The reality is a lot of people have either left the game at this top 10k - 500 level, moved onto other ranked systems, or haven't had something to play for, hardstuck trolling games inside the 0-400rr bracket.
This change does 2 things.
1: Gives people who still play this game something attainable to reach for. I understand you are lowering the threshold overall which means less skilled players get into Radiant, but allow me to introduce this next point!
2: Changes the narrative inside Radiant. We can understand what low RR Radiant and high RR radiant mean, and will develop a new culture around it, much like how it is in League with Challenger 0lp vs 500lp vs 1K lp. Nothing is being taken away from you if you're good at this game and already at that level. Now is your "tag" of Radiant allowing a lesser skill bracket into the fray? Is that being tarnished a slight bit? Yes. Will that make more people play the game so its worth it just for you to lose a little bit of that default prestige, with now the new added context of you're a high RR Radiant so you still get to keep almost the entirety of what defines the rank? YEAH! its a WIN WIN.
3: GUYS its STILL THE TOP 500! This just adds more people into the queues, gives them the incentive to play, and before you know it this threshold might even thoom back up to the 400s and 500s with how many people make the cut (by default it'll already be over 500 within a few days)
This is healthy for the game. We can contextualize if people's Radiant tag is "fradulent" or not (if you honestly even care at this point).
It just gives the people another reason to queue at the most dedicated of ranks, which is a GOOD THING!

@Koneko812 @Dasnerth @NotReduxx Idk i mean im looking at his career right now and there are 6 total ascendants across his past 15 games w/ the majority of the lobby being anywhere from imm2 - rad. mvp on half his career, i mean he looks just as legit as anybody in the top 20 rn 🤷♂️

@NiSMO_VAL i wouldn’t mind if there was a small change to neon, but they gotta fix other characters. breach, kayo, veto, phoenix, sage, killjoy, cypher, tejo, and maybe brimstone are all characters they need to work on. buffing other characters can nerf other characters

Waylay needs a nerf as well she is overturned .. but in pro play senti’s were never a big counter to neon other then Cypher but then theres Sova breaking most of the stuff even when Cypher was meta & again rounds in pro play are not decided on bombsites sometimes .. fights can happen on mains etc

This is very questionable from riot .. I dont know how the dev’s are not realizing this is the only agent who can dive/create space at any moment of the round even after using her slide..
Neon should not be able to Activate and Deactivate her sprint when ever she wants she just breaks the game
Neon bunny hoping around is as strong if not stronger then other agents that have one dash ability while this one has infinite with mouse wheel/space bar neon needs a heavy nerf..

my rabbit hole of the day: mental performance using science simplified
our brain (specifically the prefrontal cortex) has basically 2 modes: planning/analysis and execution.
these 2 modes cant happen at the same time, and this is often why players "who dont care" actually have a buff when it comes to performance.
gamers are often overthinkers. we get stuck in the analysis phase. we start thinking about future scenarios, exaggerating threats, and simulating situations that havent happened in the round yet.
this triggers anxiety. our brain wants to flag uncertainty as a danger. so we create fake perceived threats.
we start being more passive, we take less risk, we're hesitant to take space even tho info says we should, and we play micro situations poorly. we paralyze ourselves by flooding the brain with thoughts and mental stimuli.
the more we care about the outcome, the more we treat decisions as very consequential. we waste a ton of mental energy on constantly analyzing our decisions, the situation, the context of the round.
anxiety, overthinking, rumination all live in the planning/analysis mode.
unfortunately, the best performance mode is the execution mode.
that's where flowstate lives.
players who dont gaf are almost never stuck in analysis states and are almost always in execution mode.
they dont care about making mistakes. they dont care about winning.
none of their decisions are perceived as consequential. there is no fake perceived threat, thus they are almost always in some kind of flow state.
if you are an overthinker, you should be using the analysis mode outside of the game and try to let yourself be in execution mode while youre actually playing the game.
