After signing 3 high profile names like Salah, Rüdiger & Alisson it would be extremely hard to pull in a #10 that can displace McKennie in Spalletti’s XI (Luciano loves him). That being said I’m obviously not against strengthening the side further & if McKennie can be a squad depth piece than even better. Lastly there is always the option of playing Yıldız in the #10 & stat Boga on the left wing. Miretti will be in the squad too.

Could honestly have put Bernardo Silva in the #10 role instead of McKennie considering our heavy links with him but think it might be hard to pull off if the other 3 signings are prioritized over him (they should be).

I keep seeing Locatelli blamed for the penalty, but he should not have been the one taking it in that situation. For me, the responsibility lies more with Spalletti, as Yildiz or Vlahović were the better options. The miss itself was poor, but Locatelli still had a very good game overall, certainly compared to the average displays from McKennie & Thuram. Khephren, meanwhile remains far too inconsistent

I get it, we play good football, the players are bad, we don't have a striker etc. etc.. But does that mean we have a squad that cannot beat teams like Sassuolo, Lecce, Cagliari, Lazio? You don't need R9 to do it. Who cares about good football if we're losing points every week.

The fact is that since January there has been absolutely 0 improvement, we only went back 3 steps to be back in the position we were in November when Spalletti took the job. We had many games like this so far this season in which we lost points with individual mistakes etc. 1/6
