CN is testing a new checkmate format! Instead of the fixed 20 points requirement, the checkmate threshold now scales upward based on the performance of the lobby leader The Formula (activated after someone hits 20 points): New checkmate threshold = Leader's score - Games played Ex: After 5 games, the player in 1st place has 29 points. The new checkmate threshold for the next game becomes 24 points (29 - 5 = 24) This threshold is dynamic and updates after every single game. If the new threshold rises higher than your current score, you lose your Checkmate status TLDR: To win, you don't just need a first-place finish, you must also keep your total score close to the leader
