This synergy between the three EU-funded projects proved promising: integrating a corporate crime risk-based approach into environmental crime investigations could lead to ✔ proactive and targeted investigative capabilities for ✔ intelligence-driven enforcement.

Our study tested the @DatacrosIII & @kleptotrace risk-based tools on waste companies. The results? Red flags like 🔹 irregular ownership structures 🔹 links to mafia-influenced areas 🔹 and to politically exposed persons may expose "dirty" companies hiding behind a legal facade.

#WasteCrime isn’t just about illegal dumping. It often involves fraud, corruption, ML, organised crime. In Malaga, at a training organised by @emeritus_EU, we presented a study by @Crimetech2015-@transcrime, which applied corporate crime detection tools to the waste sector.
