How do you become one of Brussels most influential people? In the latest episode of The Persuaders Podcast I talk to Thea Utoft Høj Jensen, Senior Managing Director at @FTIconsultingEU. In 2023 Thea was recognized as one of the 40 top influencers in Brussels by Politico. In the first half of this episode we get Theas views on these questions, and we learn more about her way to becoming one of the most influential people in Brussels. As we cross the mid of November, it is exactly 3 years since the publication of my book "The Public Affairs Engine". The book was written based on the learnings from more than 500 conversations I had with Public Affairs pros from 2015-2020. I spent many late nights in 2020 writing - after my son Carl was put to bed. As we have crossed more than 1000 downloads + the physical edition give-aways, I would still expect many of the conclusions to be somewhat outdated by now, here 3 years later. But at its core, Public Affairs still struggles from many of the same challenges, I observed back then. Maybe this is why the book is still being downloaded every week. I wouldn't say I am discouraged on behalf of our profession, but there is still some way to go before PA pros (permanently) can access the C-suite, among other things many easy wins on the internal side (PA pros simply spend their time on the wrong things, e.g. vanity metrics). I will be covering some of these things on The Persuaders Podcast in a few weeks (find it on Apple Podcast). #publicaffairs @ThePAEngine
