@oliverdarcy@ReliableSources It is funny to learn critics at CNN are claiming Trump was “out of control” when it was Trump who controlled the entire broadcast.
@oliverdarcy@ReliableSources The nation's eyes were transfixed on CNN's shameful decision to give a platform to a known liar and sexual abuser so he could spew lies while an audience of his followers cheered him on. It was not a town hall, it was a Trump rally.
"And CNN aired it all. On and on it went. It felt like 2016 all over again. It was Trump's unhinged social media feed brought to life on stage." view.newsletters.cnn.com/messages/16837…
@brianstelter@oliverdarcy I’ve never seen any political person treated with such indignation in my whole 43 years. Real Americans are craving DJT. I don’t even like him on every level. He is the man for this job
Covering Trump is "tricky and messy," Licht says, and it will "continue to be messy and tricky, but it's our job." He confidently says "America was served very well by what we did last night." Many CNN employees strongly disagree.
Chris Licht begins CNN's 9am editorial call by praising @kaitlancollins for a "masterful performance last night." He says "I couldn't be more proud of her" and the whole team in NH. Then he says he's aware of the backlash... More to come
@oliverdarcy If Licht wants to turn CNN back into a respectable news organization like they were when owned by Ted Turner, he needs to clean house of the likes of Darcy et al
24 hours after CNN's town hall, it's all anyone is talking about. Throughout the day, we heard from dozens of network staffers — ranging in seniority and positions across the org — who all expressed dismay by what they saw transpire on their TV screens. cnn.it/3I0czqU
@GoldingBF You can love your country but not love the government. Many of the people you see rising these flags would return back to their home country if their government becomes like the governments they are fleeing to.
BREAKING: Trump's CNN Town Hall averaged just 3.1 million total viewers, according to Brian Stelter.
My tweet last night showing Kaitlan Collins asking Trump about his classified documents had over 3.2 million impressions alone.
Is alternative media taking over traditional news media? Will we see more and more journalists switching over to platforms like Twitter?
I'd love to hear your thoughts.
@leigh_loeb@davewolfusa@elonmusk@CommunityNotes Really all that mattered to Tucker is that his message was getting out to millions of Americans. Millions of Americans watched his top rated show because they liked what he was saying.
@davewolfusa@elonmusk@CommunityNotes Tucker had every intention of renewing his contract with Fox. If he was genuine, he would have left Fox because he believed in Twitter. That's not what's happening. He's been fired from all major cable outlets -- this is all that's left!
On this platform, unlike the one-way street of broadcast, people are able to interact, critique and refute whatever is said.
And, of course, anything misleading will get @CommunityNotes.
I also want to be clear that we have not signed a deal of any kind whatsoever. Tucker is subject to the same rules & rewards of all content creators.
Rewards means subscriptions and advertising revenue share (coming soon), which is a function of how many people subscribe and the advertising views associated with the content.
I hope that many others, particularly from the left, also choose to be content creators on this platform.
@davewolfusa@elonmusk@CommunityNotes Always whining and complaining and screaming their truth your truth isn’t my truth especially when it comes to politics
@elonmusk@CommunityNotes Maybe, but that man has been the source of so many lies, lies that he knew he was saying at the time, just for political misinformation ends. He does not enhance your drive for Free Speech.
