I constantly have to remind myself that this is why I write. ⁠ ⁠ I want to leave the world more joyful than I got it.⁠ ⁠ Happy birthday, Kiki. Go girl, go.⁠

There's a line in Kiki that goes⁠ ⁠ "Kiki writes because she wants to bring joy to her world. Joy that comes from traveling to moon-crater cities. Meeting doorknob-stealing gerblins, and hanging out with adventurous otters."⁠

Book releases are always a strange beast because you spend so much time prepping and preparing and then the day just...comes. Like a normal day. The kids still tell you they actually wanted oatmeal instead of eggs right after you finish making oatmeal. You still go to work.
