Trump is always trying to set the stage for canceling or otherwise interfering with the elections, and it’s going to get much worse. Efforts to protect the integrity of the elections and then voting out anyone who defends this garbage must be overwhelming, as in Hungary.

They’re painting the reflective pools with America blue paint so they look like the pools at Maralago! The point of reflecting pools is to reflect & that’s why they always used dark gray surfaces for better mirror like reflections of the sky & Monuments creating a solemn effect.

This has been the most frustrating year of my service in Congress, and it isn’t close. Mike Johnson is the weakest Speaker in the history of the House. He has turned the people’s branch into a rubber stamp. In 2025, only 38 bills were signed into law, the lowest first-year total in decades. The House set a record this century for fewest votes cast in the first session of a Congress.  Johnson killed votes on tariffs crushing working families. He blocked a vote on releasing the Epstein files. He buried bipartisan bills under procedural tricks until his own members had to force votes through discharge petitions, setting another record. Meanwhile Trump bombed Iran without a vote, dismantled the Department of Education without a vote, and imposed sweeping tariffs without a vote.  Johnson did nothing, more concerned with political survival than anything else. ICE arrested a 5th grader and 2nd grader at the school bus stop in San Antonio as their classmates watched in horror. Their stepmother was detained with them. The community at Alamo Heights Independent School District elementary is speaking out—no child should be locked away at the Dilley trailer prison. I am in touch with their father, Victor Labrador, and I plan on visiting with the family during my inspection of Dilley tomorrow. The family were asylum seekers and had valid work permits—what is happening to them is shameful.
