@agurevich23 is there something you recommend that you can stop/start constantly so you can play in small increments without starting over? i used to enjoy civ but its hard to play even in single player unless you have longer stretches of time
kinda wanna get a hobby in 2026. what is a good hobby for dads with no spare money and who only have free time in blocks that are 40 minutes or shorter and happen at completely unpredictable dates and times? it can’t be smoking cigarettes, thats way too expensive in CA these days
1. Rent a 5" x 10" safe deposit box at a bank for about $50 a year. Don't tell them what you're putting in the box. Their insurer will not allow them to ask (beyond your contract confirming it's nothing toxic / volatile).
2. Get a water safe bag for copies of important documents (paper and USB), your passport if you don't use it often, home inventory list and video for insurance, and a bit of emergency cash.
3. Put the bag and unused spare keys in your safe deposit box. This all already justifies the cost of the box because this would ideally be stored there anyway.
4. Use the box to also store your expensive paperweight "for free".
So I did something “smart” when silver hit $50.
I bought $5,000 worth of physical silver.
Roughly a 100 oz bar. About 7 pounds. Basically a shiny brick.
Now my wife and I are traveling to Europe…
…and I’ve discovered silver ownership is a full-time problem 😂
I don’t have a safe.
I don’t want to leave it at home.
My bank literally said “we don’t store that.”
And I’m seriously debating walking through TSA with a metal bar like a Minecraft character.
Like what do people actually do?
– Install a $2,000 safe to protect a $5K bar?
– Pay monthly storage like it’s a gym membership?
– Bury it in the backyard and hope no one mows the lawn?
– Or just carry my medieval treasure chest everywhere like a pirate?
Everyone shouts “PRECIOUS METALS = FREEDOM!!!”
Meanwhile I’m here stressing over how to babysit a rock.
Any advice?
I sold all my Bitcoin.
I am putting it all into physical nickels.
Yes, you read that correctly.
Here is the math: A nickel is worth 5 cents forever (legal tender). But the metal inside (copper/nickel) is worth 6.2 cents right now.
I am buying money for a 20%+ discount.
If copper price crashes, I still have 5 cents. If copper moons, I have a fortune.
People can laugh now but they won’t laugh for long. The downside is zero.
@mtatsis@barkmeta lol...I've been stacking home depot buckets full of pre 1984 pennies for yrs on my back patio. bucket is 4 bucks, copper does not break down. piss off.
@ClashofClans Is the boost to the amount we earn from our raids, drills, etc or is it to the sum we contribute? Can we stockpile hundreds of thousands to contribute alot all at once with the boost? Or will the boost only affect loot earned after it is active?
Hey Chief, the boost period for the Hero Rush Event is happening on Monday at 08:00am UTC and not during this weekend as we initially announced.
We apologise for the mistake, have a great weekend!
@_wbbt1337@MyOwnMartyr@bumbadum14 A statement doesn’t have to begin with “in my opinion” to be an opinion. For legal purposes, a fact can be definitively proven. In the example I gave, you cannot PROVE either assertion.
@MyOwnMartyr@bumbadum14 How the other party takes the statements is irrelevant. A statement of “he’s a chauvinistic pig who treated the waiter rude” is not a fact. Plus, a statement of fact, is only one of about 6 requirements that need to be met to make a defamation case enforceable.
