Latinos sempre são chamados para cantar em festas, premiações e eventos americanos. Em casamentos e festas de empresas, inclusive, são tratados muitas vezes como distração, como entretenimento de fundo, quase um adereço cultural para animar o ambiente, não como artistas completos, não como protagonistas, mas como “atração”. É assim que o sistema funciona: latinos como espetáculo conveniente, americanos como centro. E é justamente por isso que aquela cena é sarcástica e política. Ali, os papéis foram invertidos. Pela primeira vez, uma artista americana ocupando o lugar de atração para um público latino, não como centro, não como dona do palco, mas como parte do espetáculo conduzido por eles. Quem leu aquilo como “submissão”, “humilhação” ou “falta de noção” só confirmou o ponto, quando o privilégio muda de lugar, muita gente se incomoda. Especialmente quem nunca aprendeu a ler nada além do óbvio.
