Went into Hecho Valley today with the hope of hopefully getting a glimpse of a Wallcreeper, we only had this male down to about 20 foot away for over 45 minutes, singing and catching food,preening. Mind absolutely blown 🤯 My N°1 birding highlight in my life full stop!!!!!!

Tyne Wear Derby day today, what a pile of shite!! Credit to the Mackems tho, they were the better side. That's 3 derbies I've been too and we've lost everyone 1-2, might not ever go again!!

Fabulous looks at the White Billed Diver at Blyth this morning, took over 2hrs to swim towards me but we'll worth the wait when it did!!!

Another good showing of Tundra Bean Goose this morning with a couple of flocks in the Druridge area, I can't fall on this bloody White Tailed Eagle tho, chased it all morning but another fail!!

Still good numbers of Tundra Bean Geese in Northumberland, so on way home from work tonight had 2 in fields near Druridge and 7 including this showy bird at Newbiggin, only the 3rd time I've had a Newbiggin Bean so we'll worth a look!!

Lesser Canada with Bean Geese and Pink feet

Another great day checking Geese flocks in Northumberland, 12 Tundra Bean Geese, over 300 White Fronted Geese, 30 Barnacle Geese, over 3000 Pink Footed Geese and the reappearance of the small Canada Goose too, hopefully a Ross's or Red Breasted next!!

So turns out the Taiga Bean I found is actually another Tundra Bean!! Back to the books...

What an amazing influx of Geese were having at moment,on Tue I had this Small Cackling type, today I had a Taiga Bean goose, 3rd pic, at Cresswell sandwiched in-between 7 Tundra Bean at various locations and over 250 Russian White Fronted Geese, any opinions welcome on the I.D's

Out in my lunch hour to look for the White Tailed Eagle which was again a no show but found this Small race Canada Goose in a flock of pinks which included 60+ White Fronted Goose, 10 Barnacle and a few Canada Geese, lovely little bird!!

@Nige63 It appears this was the only reliable sighting all day, I waited until 4pm and never seen it, I know they can sit for long periods but I think it would have showed in 6hrs if it was still around the Druridge area, I think it may have left!

@Davedack81 Hi David a mate and me seen it in trees at distance opposite Widdrington farm at about 9:45 ish this morning it took of after about 5 mins behind the trees and out of site low level.

6hrs in the Druridge area failed to produce the White Tailed Eagle, although a few dodgy reports came out! Highlights were my first Bittern for 5 years, Smew, White Fronted geese and this showy Red necked Grebe! Is the Eagle still in the area??
