"You can smell the alcohol when people are in between votes." Green MP Hannah Spencer tells us what Westminster is REALLY like. The full interview is live on YouTube, and as a podcast here: linktr.ee/howtorebuildbr…

She’s absolutely right about this. Normal working-class people can’t drink while working, let alone be encouraged to do so with multiple bars offering subsidised prices at a cost of £6 million a year to the taxpayer.

actually i think it’s a very british thing to discuss important matters over a drink in a pub. if anything, i feel it puts mps back in the heads of ordinary brits. and i think this shows so called ‘working class’ hannah doesnt really get the working class traditions of the UK.

🚨 🇮🇷 BREAKING — FM Araghchi: "Hormuz stays closed until $𝟭𝟭 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 in frozen Iranian assets are released." Iran isn't asking for sanctions lifted. Iran is demanding 𝟰𝟲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 of stolen money back 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁.

What’s the equivalent of “I have a boyfriend” to those charity muggers that hang around train stations or town centres?

🚨 NEW: Zack Polanski suggests Donald Trump is worse than Vladimir Putin “As horrendous as Putin is… I’ve never seen him threaten genocide. I've never seen him threaten to wipe out a civilization… Starmer’s so-called special relationship is more of a danger than what Putin is doing in Ukraine” [@antoguerrera]

@NicholasTyrone It's just obviously true. Putin is malignant but his forces have basically been stopped 1500 miles away in his far smaller and weaker neighbour. We are much more vulnerable to American coercion.

Britain could lose the Falklands because of weak leadership. It's not the 80s anymore, there's no Thatcher in charge and the UK is a depressing shell of its former self. If Argentina simply walks in and takes over, possibly soon with Trump's approval, what exactly will Keir Starmer do? Send an angry worded letter? Would he even care at all?

Superb piece from @tompeck who went out door-knocking with Wes Streeting in his constituency Streeting was withering about the Greens “Without traducing the entire Green Party and their activist base when I see some of the people who joined the Labour Party under Jeremy Corbyn, and have since left the Labour Party and joined the Greens, I feel a sense of relief “I feel sorry for the old, cuddly environmentalists who are now overrun with a bunch of people who made the Labour Party unelectable, who’ll be delighted that Zack Polanski would happily pull us out of Nato and they’ll make every excuse under the sun to defend the indefensible.” And here he is on the independents: “We’re voting for Redbridge council, not the UN security council. Who you choose to run your local council matters and the Redbridge independents represent a divisive brand of sectarian politics. I don’t want to see Redbridge becoming a basket case or a rotten borough like Tower Hamlets.” thetimes.com/uk/politics/ar…

Happy St George’s Day! Sainsbury’s has 4 AISLES for Ramadan at my local supermarket so I decided to see what they had in for St George’s Day….🏴

🚨 NEW: The US is considering a review of its stance on the Falkland Islands as punishment for the UK not supporting the war on Iran [@Reuters]
