VOLCANO was released 29 years ago today. The volcanic ash effects were made from ground-up newspaper, which you can see clinging to the actors’ hair and clothes throughout the film.​

@TheCinesthetic You can tell it's a typical Summer in New York City... When you see someone waking up on the fire escape, after sleeping out there all night.

The incredible opening shot from Dead End (1937) blends miniature effects, forced perspective and clever editing — and nearly 90 years later, it still looks fantastic.

@tvark Eric did return make one last appearance in The Bill in 2004, when Bob Cryer, Jack Meadows, Alec Peters attended the funeral of Ted Roach.

24 April 2001 Actor Eric Richard appears in ITV's The Bill for the last time. He had been with the programme since its launch.

Footage from 1943 showing testing of the British Highball bouncing bomb at Reculver in Kent and a near hit on the cameraman. Highball was a rounded version of the damn buster bombs designed by Barnes Wallis to target ships. A deadly crash during testing ended project.👀
