Can someone please explain to me how we have all this extra oil to sell to other countries, but gas is over $4/gallon here as if there’s some sort of shortage.

You're absolutely wrong Dave. It's almost like you were trying to be wrong, you are so wrong. The US has an excess of Sweet (Texas Sweet) crude from the Permian Basin. Our Cokers on the Gulf Coast were designed to break Heavy, dirty oil from Venezuela. We also import heavy oil from Mexico and Canada. We export our light/sweet crude to other countries, it cost more for them but also easier to refine.

@Daviator1981 @DerrickEvans4WV That's the exact opposite of reality. The US is the world's top producer of light, sweet which carries a premium price. We export it. The US imports mainly heavy crude that offers a greater range of petroleum products.
