From older kin with wisdom deep, Tales of life that memories keep. Their voices rich with years gone by, Teach us to live, to laugh, to try. A cat’s soft purr, its playful stare, The comfort found just sitting there. The wishbone snapped with hope held tight, Dreams whispered softly into the night. The sneaky nibble of turkey’s skin, A secret snack before feasts begin. The joy of flavors, savory and sweet, The little tastes that make life complete. The roar of cheers, the football game, The joy of team pride all the same. The thrill of touchdowns, the crowd’s loud call, The way we rise, the way we fall. Years may pass, and time may fade, But these are treasures life has made. Not in the riches or towering fame, But in the love that still remains. The hand you held, the tear you dried, The moments when you stood with pride. The thank-yous whispered in the night, The stars that glimmered faint but bright. So let’s give thanks, not just for more, But for what we have, and what’s in store. For little things, the gifts we hold, The seeds of joy that years unfold. This Thanksgiving, let’s truly live, Grateful for all that life can give. For in these moments, small yet wise, Lies the meaning that never dies.
