Do you believe a return to 2 class basketball “fixes” what ails the state tournament? Or simply giving kids a two-day experience and getting rid of third place games in prime time? Or is it deeper than that?

@AdamSchefter @BUFSportsTalk DJ Moore will be 29 in April and was about to be Option #4 in the Bears offense behind Rome Odunze, Luther Burden II and Colston Loveland and they managed to not only clear cap space but gain a 2nd round pick in exchange for a guy they’d have likely cut as a cap casualty. @DOB23 Oh my goodness are they bad. My favorite line was late in regulation. BC was up 2, and Mount Pulaski missed a 3-pointer with less than 30 seconds to go. BC got the rebound, and the color announcer said, “if that one had gone in, it would have really changed the game.” You think?

@ippensenfarms @DOB23 I would say yes. It’s not clear that Quincy is home or road, and it also breaks DOB’s (the Associated Press’) rule of listing the winning score first.

I’ve seen a number of accounts, some school accounts likely run by young people and other young journalists, who report losing scores first. The proper way to list a score is the winning score first every single time. Your team did not lose 68-75. They lost 75-68. Thank you.

@DOB23 @SchuckSports Would volleyball be the only sport for which reporting a score backwards is accepted? As in, “The USA defeated Brazil 25-18, 25-20, 24-26, 25-22 in the quarterfinals of the Olympics.” I can’t think of any other sport.

@DOB23 @SchuckSports So what is the lesson learned here? Just follow what @DOB23 says. He will never lead you wrong. I would be in favor of rocks being thrown at people who report “the Silver Streaks lost 55-70 to the Blue Devils,” but some might consider that extreme.

Saw tonight my first high school game with a shot clock since last year’s Quincy Shootout. The most important possession of the game was because of a shot clock error that couldn’t be fixed. Get ready for plenty of that when all games get shot clocks. #noshotclocknecessary

You don’t need to be better than them. You need to be better than yesterday. Athlete: What if I never win? What if I give everything and still fall short? Coach: Then you’ll walk away with something most never touch—truth. The kind you only find when you’ve emptied yourself for something bigger than comfort. Athlete: So… you think I should keep going? Coach: I think you already know the answer. You wouldn’t be having this conversation if you truly wanted to stop. You just want someone to remind you that it’s worth it. Athlete: It hurts, Coach. Some days, it really hurts. Coach: Good. That means you care. And nothing worth having comes without pain. Now breathe. You’ve made it through every hard day so far. Most quit before the breakthrough! Don’t be like most!
