I’m not sure understand the argument for a windfall profits tax on energy companies. If you reduce profitability, you will discourage investment which is the opposite of our objective.

It really doesn't matter if 9mm does or doesn't blow out your lungs because the whole purpose of having a self-defense gun is that it's effective at stopping people who are trying to kill you.
