Is there anything more selfish you can do on the court than be injured on defense but magically heal on offense?

Continuous Finishing I love starting a workout with stuff like this! Gets the energy flowing and gets the players a feel for the concepts that will be in their offense.

Unpopular Youth Coaching Takeaway: "The decision is more important than the technique." If learn when to shoot, pass, or drive, execution will improve with time. If they never learn the decision, “perfect form” won’t transfer. What made you rethink technique-first coaching?

I don’t think the “how did Ohio State not win a National Championship with 4 of the top 11 players in the draft?” questions are fair at all. I think a far more reasonable question is “how hasn’t Ohio State won a Big Ten Championship in the last five years?”

Tom Izzo sure picked a great game to attend as a fan of local college hoops. He got to see five guys who played college basketball in the state of Michigan suit up for an NBA playoff game. If that’s not enough, he also got to see a Big Ten team honored for being National Champs.

@DavidFlowers88 It comes down to maxing profits, otherwise they wouldn’t do it. “It’s about the kids” is the last thing on (especially large ones) tournament’s minds. Options for directors, players, and coaches to go to more affordable spots. We have choices even though many think we don’t.

If they didn’t want to make money then they wouldn’t be hosting a tournament. No one is in this to break even when there’s 500+ teams. Ignorant to think otherwise.

🌶️ AAU Admissions Hot-Take💰 I’ve been on all sides of this - college coach, general admission, event operator. I get the frustration. I hate that if our family wanted to go watch 1 of our kids play it would be $200+ for weekend admission on top of all the other fees, travel expenses etc. BUT Here’s the reality. EVERYTHING is expensive right now. I don’t think most people realize the costs for the facility (especially large convention centers) insurance, table workers, referees, event staff, etc. It’s a HIGHLY competitive space, with lots of people wanting to run events. If someone could run a large, quality event and charge $15 for weekend admission, THEY WOULD DO IT. Because every team and family would want to play in that event. But there’s a reason you don’t see quality events at that admission price, and it isn’t “greed”. It’s because whoever ran that event would lose a ton of money, and people aren’t going to spend hundreds of hours putting together a youth tournament AND lose tens of thousands of dollars in the process. No one forces teams to play in the big events. A lot of teams, especially younger age groups, could definitely just play in smaller, local tournaments. But the idea that you could have large, quality tournaments where you play against good competition from other areas with $15 admission is just not happening.

If ball screens are a big part of your offense, going to need a plan for how to teach ways to attack different coverages. Not something that should surprise you come game time. What things do you emphasize against various coverages?
Coaching U@Coaching_U

🏀 Jake Diebler shares four concepts Ohio State uses to attack ball screen coverages: 1️⃣ Retreat & Go 2️⃣ Boomerang 3️⃣ Blast Cut 4️⃣ Ghost Screen The decision on which to use is personnel-based, but each concept aims to create space and force defensive mistakes.

OSU dodged a bullet with Dusty May. Not sure if Jake Diebler will be great, but May’s claim to fame is a lucky postseason run last year. You had never heard of him before that. And don’t forget, FAU got to play 16th-seeded Fairleigh Dickinson in the 2nd round.
