Former congressman Bill Posey (R-Fl) has passed away at age 78. He served Florida’s 8th congressional district from 2009-2025. Before getting elected to Congress, Posey was a chief sponsor of a bill designed to modernize the Florida election process in response to the 2000 presidential election controversy while serving in the Florida state legislature.

Stark County, Ohio Yesterday, Canton City Council announced an increase in utility bills for all customers starting next month, citing 'necessary infrastructure upgrades and increased operational costs.' They failed to mention the 5,600-square-foot, 1.5 MW redundant data center in Canton that is driving up energy costs. They also failed to mention the major data center project is breaking ground in nearby Perry Township. Metallus (formerly TimkenSteel) Faircrest plant. This increase is just the first of many for Ohioans. With officials like Jon Husted, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Rob McColley who will support Ohio legislation that further protects data centers from absorbing the energy costs and infrastructure upgrades, abandoning regulations, and granting 15-30 year tax abatement on property taxes - the cost will go to consumers.

The more educated a population is, the less Republicans there are. That says everything you need to know.

I think it's idiotic to overreact to a couple of elections in blue states, but a few thoughts: 1) Scot Pressler, TPUSA, and a bunch of others have been working hard to register voters. I said it in 2022, and I've said it repeatedly since: our coalition is "lower propensity" and that means we have to do better at turning out voters than we have in the past. 2) We need to focus on the home front. The president has done a lot that has already paid off in lower interest rates and lower inflation, but we inherited a disaster from Joe Biden and Rome wasn't built in a day. We're going to keep on working to make a decent life affordable in this country, and that's the metric by which we'll ultimately be judged in 2026 and beyond. 3) The infighting is stupid. I care about my fellow citizens--particularly young Americans--being able to afford a decent life, I care about immigration and our sovereignty, and I care about establishing peace overseas so our resources can be focused at home. If you care about those things too, let's work together.

Last year, we ran one of the closest races in the country for the US House in a district few gave us a chance of winning. In seeking a rematch, we earned the endorsements of every member of the Ohio Republican Delegation in Congress. Our strong, well funded campaign cleared the upcoming primary field and was ready to flip OH-13 next fall. Unfortunately, the Ohio Redistricting Commission has made OH-13 significantly worse, moving it from a tossup to a D+4 district. Having been through a tough 2024 campaign I know how this story ends and what this means in terms of fundraising and national support.  I do not see a path to victory and I cannot ask our supporters to continue to invest their time and treasure into this race. The outcome of 2026 will determine the fate of the Trump presidency. The next Congress will either impeach and investigate, or make some of the Trump agenda permanent.  A small group of people have dealt a serious setback to keeping the Republican majority in the House. Anne and I are grateful to everyone who has played a part in supporting this campaign and to our amazing team. We are forever grateful to have been born in the greatest, most free country on Earth.   I’m sorry I won’t have a chance to fight for your American Dream in Congress. Kevin🇺🇸
