As we exit another halloween, parents must pay extra attention to their children’s Halloween bags. There are deceptive candies and foodstuffs that have intoxicating effects and they also can contain dangerous pesticides and heavy metals. Those pesticides and heavy metals can have significant negative health impacts and are in some cases well known to cause cancer. The products have proliferated the gas stations, convenience stores, and smoke shops across Missouri. The packaging so closely resembles legitimate candy and snacks that they are very difficult to distinguish on first glance. Moving forward, the Missouri State Legislature needs to act swiftly to ban these dangerous and deceptive products from store shelves and protect the public health and safety of Missourians, most especially our children.

Are we ready to do something yet? It’s time for the Missouri Rangers.
