Let's revisit... In early 2021 I went to jail, detox, and rehab. And it still wasn't enough to get me to stop drinking!! I had transformed my body and mind the 6 months prior but I was spiritually unwell and ego had run rampant. I GOT THIS. 5 years ago today MY most proven methods of escaping the crutch of that first drink failed again. Despite pending charges, despite certain termination of employment, despite every shred of evidence accumulated over the years of drinking... Despite having a wife child, and home to call my own. Knowing full damn well the consequences only get worse! I got drunk. I got arrested again. This time a felony 3rd DUI right behind my house after lying to my counselor DURING IOP zoom and my wife who didn't want me to "go to Walmart real quick" for some bullshit. It literally destroyed life as I knew it. And that was the point. That fuck up led me to hernestly seek a power outside of myself for help. In that cell I surrender to His will. I looked up and haven't looked back. God thank you for the struggles, thank you for the sacrifice! You made me strong enough to kill the old me and grow through hell. Thank you for today. As a kid I always knew. I only prayed a couple of times before bed and went to church once. But I knew. As I grew, I got "smarter" and the Atheist's were very tempting and the "science" could never be proved. It was in my early teens I succumbed to ego, durgs, booze, and ladies. I tempted His forgiveness for 30+ years in an out of counseling, rehabs, and jails. Never full able to get over myself, setback after setback. Until the day I asked for evidence, when He provided. You see, this thing I asked for had others in mind while I was at my absolute lowest. Literally on a jail cell floor for the umpteenth time in my life, just a short 5 years ago. The one thing I asked, he showed me and I've been a Believer since. I have my struggles but if you know anything about how I'm living, you know I know GOD! You recognize His grace through me. I do my best to live a life of gratitude and it shows.
