40 per cent of the electorate didn’t vote. That’s huge. At 59 per cent, it’s a historic low for voter turnout in 🇮🇪 . Notwithstanding the problems with the electoral register, it is one of the lowest in the EU. It says something about voter apathy and democratic disengagement.

The final section of the newly-built stretch of the N16 Sligo / Manorhamilton road at Lugatober, near Glencar, opened today.
