Loved the idea of compost. Didn’t realize how much plastic was in it. At least 10-20 pieces per square ft. All the light spots are pieces of plastic. Bit of a disaster over the field now.

@_TheMizzouTiger Hubs, bearings, seals, shoes, drums, wheels, tires, all new wiring and lights front to back and that’s not counting the hours I spent needle scaling the frame…..only positive is trailer value probably went up everything I put into it

It shouldn’t cost 4 figures for filters. Can’t afford to do it more than once a year. And that ain’t even all of them. Just what needs done. Whoof.

@gavin_spoor Very interesting, I’m in the market for a class 7, not married to any particular brand but perhaps I need to look harder at auction prices.

There are almost 1,700 S780’s for sale online. The difference between dealer and auction price is over $150,000 There’s enough s780s for sale to combine almost seven million acres (4,000 acres/machine) That’s just one model from one brand. I can’t help but think we’re far from seeing the bottom in equipment values. Look out below.

Slowly doing homework on a combine update. I have 0 experience running a Draper head but thinking a 35’ would suit my needs. What models should I be looking into and why? Seems like MacDon has a big chunk of the used market share.

@JimKlinger44086 @HRPSCMV Regardless of if it can handle that weight, it's not registered for it. And it's all on the back axle...that's more of a problem.

Another overload. This truck is registered for 9000kg. Weighed in at 12500kg. Overloaded tires. All the weight is sitting on the rear axle. Overloading in this manner contributes to issues with steering, as well as poor performance in emergency braking. No pre trip completed.

@tylerparis11 @rodgrisier1958 last one we bought from auction and it’s a great machine and very well priced. Some we buy as salvage units and repair. With Combines flooding the market private sellers and dealers do not want trade ins anymore. We found best to sell privately which isn’t easy and buy private

@DavidKillins @rodgrisier1958 What do you consider the best way to buy and sell them? Buy off auctions I’m assuming? What hours on them is the ideal time to buy at and sell by?

I know a guy that traded class 9 combine 500 hours Cost $900 an hour to trade.
