As a fellow single mom, I’m heartbroken today for Karina Bland and her family. As acting governor, I’m proud to issue this proclamation on behalf of Sawyer Bland and his loved ones.

I am excited to share that beginning in February, I will be the new Executive Director for the Arizona School for the Arts – a school serving grades 5-12 and renowned for its exceptional educational and performing arts programs. My last day with the Arizona Department of Child Safety will be January 31. I have enjoyed my nearly 2 years as the DCS Director and I am looking forward to seeing the dedicated, passionate workforce at DCS continue the good progress they have been making in recent years. goasa.org

Wow! Texas’s 39-31 win over ASU in double OT 39-31 was one of the best College Football Playoff games that I’ve ever seen! ASU should be proud of how well they played and how hard they fought because they were part of an NCAA Football classic.

Alberto was one of a kind — a devoted husband, father, proud American and a public servant who loved America and loved Arizona. Alberto lived the American Dream, and was so proud of it.
