Former South Rowan QB Brooks Overcash made the powerful NC State flag football squad. Former Carson QB Alex London - I know him pretty well - is hoping to pass the torch of leading the Wolfpack to Overcash. Both are future engineers who will make the world a better place.

Throughout the week heading into the winter storm system that was moving into the area and the county. Before the system evolved into reality comments were being directed at me and this service calling me a liar because another forecaster, meteorologist or phone app indicated more or different accumulations than I was forecasting. I was called a liar because folks heard thunder, or snowbirds were eating and stocking up and my low totals for the onset of 1-2 inches of snowfall with 0.10-0.25 inches of ice accumulation being possible around the county. There ws even talk of a mystery low that was going to form off the coast of Charleston and Savannah that would bring a foot of snowfall to the county and the area. Then during and after the event I was being attacked for not enough snowfall and too much ice around the county. Yes just prior to the storm I adjusted the snowfall forecast to 1 - 3 inches as data was there to support it. I have spent many sleepless nights over the past 11 and a half years with this service. Having bloodshot eyes literally every night from pouring my heart and soul into everything that goes into it to ensure the folks in the county have some sort of idea of what is coming at them from a weather perspective. I am bringing this service to an end on January 31st, 2025. To ensure the paid advertising partners I have get the month of January complete. At the end of day January 31st. Rowan County Weather will shut its doors, and I am going to step away from all of the hatred that exist on social media and focus on a much happier and healthier life. Brooks Overcash to Jadon Moore for South Rowan TD. 29th TD pass for Overcash to tie the school record. Bulldogs 42, Raiders 7.

I try hard to stay neutral in this stuff and be a reporter and not too much of a homer, but watching South Rowan beat Concord on a football field brought tears to my eyes. They've been through a lot of tough times.

Brooks Overcash broke South Rowan career passing yardage record. Overcash rush TD and pass TD to Jadon Moore. Moore huge game 6 for 151. Frieze and Smith rush TDs. Littlejohn and Sloan big plays on D. Moore had INT to clinch it.

Brooks Overcash needed a tear away jersey. He is dragged down on third and long scramble and Raiders to punt with 3:05 3rd. The good news is leading 20-6 at Central Cabarrus.

4:37 left at Central Cabarrus. Raiders 20, Vikings 12. South just hit a deep one. Overcash to Moore. 26-12. Overcash with a pretty good impression of the Karate Kid after throwing that strike.
