The global warming crisis is based on the Trenberth "back radiation" model (yes, it's just a math model). It's the foundational concept upon which everything related to CO2's effects rides, the entire scientific edifice. And it's completely false. youtube.com/watch?v=0lm3zv…

@PIC_Colleen It was like that in the 70s and early 80s when we are all encouraged to freak out over Global Cooling and the Coming Ice Age.

@NotFreeNotBrave @djmor693 @TheBrancaShow No they asked her to move the pot, she was holding it over the sink, makes the "rebuke you" joke (to me), *then* he draws & threatens to shoot her, she seems to cower & apologize while still holding the pot, dep fires (in panic IMO). Don't disagree with him getting sent up tho.

@DrInsensitive I used to have a spent/reswaged .38 special on my key ring, carried thru airports for years. In 2002, going thru LAX, fat TSA chick spots it. It had a freakin' hole drilled thru it. "You can't take this through, but you can put it in a little box and check it in." Threw it out.

You May Mock Me. A few weeks ago, I lost a loaded 1911 mag. Yesterday I found it, when I tried to carry it through the airport security screen. Fortunately, the screener was an old white guy. He laughed and asked if I had taken this bag to the range. I asked him to throw away the bullets and let me keep the empty mag, but his latino supervisor showed up and barked at me. "You can't keep ANY of this!" He obviously enjoyed that moment. The old white guy caught my eye with a, "What can we do?" expression.

How To Talk About this ICE Shooting The simple truth is that shooting the protestor was an error, because he had already been disarmed by another officer. Don't freak out yet. It is also true that carrying a gun, even at a protest, does not mean the cops get to shoot you. It's still not time to freak out. And it is true that the ICE guys wrestling with this armed subject were at grave risk of death or crippling injury. And it is true that they heard a close gunshot. So here is how to describe the shooting: "It was an honest mistake."

I agree with your premise. Any law enforcement counter has risk to both sides. I hate to say it...but it looks like AN HONEST, perhaps justified, MISTAKE. One among thousands of encounters, maybe hundreds of thousands. 1. He initiates a violent incident. 2. He resists. 3. He is waving a dark object around during the takedown, now we know it was a cell phone. 4. After his gun was removed, it discharges...an agent yells "gun"...and then the other agents perceive a threat and shoot him. But after years of discussing Floyd, American realizes that policing is hard, we have re-ordered the laws to favor the criminal since the 70s, and any interaction with law enforcement has an error rate, however small it is proven to be with body cams and video.

@realcopeaganda @shipwreckedcrew Cops kill citizens all the time when the perceive a deadly threat. They represent the government. A conservative will say, if the government's agent acted unlawfully, string him up, if not, don't. The test is, is that perception reasonable. Progs base it all on their emotions.

Pretti had the right under the 2nd Amendment to be armed on the streets of Minneapolis. But it seems that he wasn't in full compliance with MN CCW permit that was issued to him. And bringing a firearm to the activity he was planning increased the potential for risk for harm to himself. Having the right to do something does not mean exercising that right is free of risk. He made a choice. When he made that choice, who was he envisioning in his mind that he might confront that would call for the need of a handgun?

This is Actually True. Two months ago, a new couple moved in next door. They are the first neighbors we really get along with, which means something because we've seen plenty of neighbors come and go. We've even gone over to their place for drinks, which we haven't done with any other neighbors. They just told us they are swingers. Now every interaction is twice as interesting, because maybe... The pic is not them.

@DrInsensitive Used to, but then I fell off & discovered what a poor calculated risk it was. Airplanes & gliders is a better calculated risk b/c your safety depends mostly on your own performance. Bikes put you at the mercy of outside parties. Kinda like swinging come to think if it... 😆

@DavidMarsden223 Yeah, we are grappling with that exact issue. IMO, it's best to stay in the flirty-gropey stage as long as possible. That's just great fun.

@TheBrancaShow @willchamberlain Hi Andrew. I couldn't find any posts or comments from you regarding ashli babbitt, though the topic seems to be in your content wheelhouse and you've been here since 2013. Did you not post or comment about her at all? Seems odd.

@TheBrancaShow On top of that, SCOTUS places no limit on the number of shots fired in anger in the moment as a result of the original stimulus, absent some time interval that effectively creates a new event.

@DrInsensitive It doesn't stop climate science. There's a new hypothesis to rescue the narrative: Arctic warming destabilized the interface btwn the polar & mid lat air masses so that cold air migrates farther south. I don't think there is much evidence. Nice to have goalposts on casters.

@TheBrancaShow Hegelian Dialectic, the embracing of paradoxes in the belief they can be resolved into a new reality, is foundational to left wing thinking. And so they have no problem with fundamental logical contradictions & are not embarrassed by them. This explains the nonsensical arguments.

@PIC_Colleen Also not too far away, if you're a history buff, in the countryside SW of Macon is the Andersonville Prison Civil War site, which includes a little POW museum. I spent a day there. There's a very good TV movie about Andersonville.

So my Maps took me on an adventure, we got all turned around en route to the airport for our departure today. But I’m glad it did because we saw this old SR-71 parked! I had no idea BHM had one. So cool. I wish I got a better pic.
