@CMacWFAN I know you don’t think much of them, but TB is pretty good.

@CMacWFAN the terrible D which stole an inning from Warren, and the pen may still yet blow this….of course, who cares, pens give up runs 😉

@CMacWFAN at least losing a ton of games by 1 run doesn’t hurt the run differential too much!

@JakeAsman At the deadline? Needed help in the winter. This pen is awful…and most who pay attention knew it would be a big problem since last November,

Bullpen will be the Yankees biggest need at the deadline by far.

@threeinningfan Headrick’s arm is ready to fall off. This pen needed to be addressed over the winter….Cashman and Hal did nothing. And how many .200 guys who K litter this lineup? Different year…similar problems.

Another ugly Yankee loss. And a waste of a beautiful outing by Weathers.

If Brent Headrick is giving up homers now, who are the Yankees' lockdown relievers?

@CMacWFAN Call Hoch and tell him there is no way he should even be looking at these numbers! LOL x.com/BryanHoch/stat…
Bryan Hoch ⚾️@BryanHoch

Some numbers to consider, courtesy of @MLBNetwork research: · The Yankees have lost eight of nine games this season against teams currently at .500 or better. They have won 25 of 32 vs. sub-.500 clubs in 2026. o Their three series defeats in 2026 have come in their three series vs. winning clubs (A’s, Rays, and Brewers). They averaged 2.7 runs per game in those nine games. o They are averaging 6.0 R/G in the 32 games vs. losing teams. o The Yanks’ next three series are against losing teams (Orioles, Mets, Blue Jays) before they face the first-place Rays at Yankee Stadium over Memorial Day weekend.

Jose Caballero is out of tonight's lineup after hurting his right middle finger diving into the bag yesterday, per @BryanHoch He will undergo an MRI but does not believe it is fractured

@CMacWFAN You push back on any comment that points out their issues. You put them on a pedestal because they are a consistent playoff team. I have never said they suck, just that they are not constructed nearly as well as you think, and I don’t think they are a championship team as built.

@DavidPack_9 They struggled offensively the entire first 3 weeks. TB was the one team that it cost them. Then got hot. Beat up Ranger Suarez who has a 2.77. The rangers who have 6th best ERA and best BP ERA. Had a bad series. it started Vs a guy throwing 103. And had 2 run leads next 2 games

@CMacWFAN @RyanGarciaESM My point is that every year we seem to wonder why the Yanks offense disappears. Against playoff pitching, .200 hitters who K a lot generally perform poorly. When you have 4 or 5 guys in the lineup who are that type of hitter, you will have problems.

Team offense vs "good" pitching staffs (anybody with an ERA- below 100): NYY: .320 wOBA | .340 xwOBA MLB: .304 wOBA | .314 xwOBA Conclusion? The "good pitching" argument is misleading. You expect good pitchers to perform better against any offense relative to the league-average, but the Yankees are also comfortably better than most vs good pitching. Pretty unlucky here too.

@JakeAsman @880ESPNNewYork It’s interesting. For the Knicks, it’s celebrated…for the Rangers, it’s treated as evidence of ultimate failure.

The Knicks obviously have bigger goals this season, but making the Eastern Conference Finals in back to back years should never be taken for granted. This fanbase stayed loyal through so many brutal years. We know what the dark days looked like. That’s why we’re appreciating every second of this run.

@CMacWFAN Last one, no problem with Bednar pitching the 9th, but after 12 pitches and the lead, he has to pitch the 10th too. That's my problem with it. Also, don't make an excuse for Judge's crappy base running....it was an awful base running play...please. Have a great night

@CMacWFAN Since he has been a Yankee, when had Doval been close to their best reliever? He has been AWFUL here since his first appearance.

@CMacWFAN Yes,the pen has had some success. No, Boone hasn't made all bad decisions. But when the offense doesn't tack on, and Boone and the pen have to be better, they too often are not.I completely disagree with you about Saturday night.Had a lead bottom of 8, need to close it

@CMacWFAN Yes, you need slug. but, as many scouts have said, the Yanks hitters' profiles are all very similar....the bottom of the lineup is .200 hitters and lots of Ks....same with the leadoff hitter. That has needed to be fixed for years....never seems to get fixed.
