@Aaron_Sparrow I concur. I've gotten similar messages, and it seems to be a growing trend. What Aaron said, be professional. Don't screw around. Otherwise you will come across as manipulative.

Just a general bit of advice for indie artists that they are free to take or leave. Probably not in your best interests to block people you might get work from, to appease people who have nothing for you. If you’re trying to cold inquire about possible work, don’t send a message that just says “Hello,” or “Hi.” It seems nice, but it’s a waste people’s time. If I get a message that just says “Hi,” I don’t respond. Because I’m going to say “Hello,” you’re going to say “How are you?” and I’m already projecting ahead foreseeing a hundred interactions with you like this. Be direct; BE ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS.
