They need to stop whatever 'restoration' they're doing on upcoming sets. Go back to 13, and 21, press Ctrl+Z on the 'restoration' and get ready to start printing some replacement discs.

@DavidRoylance @SubcommanderT I don't find any season 3 episodes boring. I unironically love "Spock's Brain" as it was the first Trek I ever saw. The one that I really object to is "Is There In Truth No Beauty?" for the several scenes that evoke cringe like nothing else in the series. Perhaps it's just me. 🤷

Paul Ehrlich, author of The Population Bomb, which (very incorrectly) projected mass starvation as a result of overpopulation, died the other day. His book came out in 1968; “The Mark of Gideon” came out the next year. Hard not to imagine there was a connection!

I adopted my friend April's dog over a year ago when she moved in with her boyfriend, who didn't want pets. She gave me all rights. The dog became my WORLD. She saved me from depression. But recently, April asked for the dog back since her boyfriend was now okay with it. I refused, explaining that the dog was settled and happy with me. Furious, April accused me of "stealing her dog" and threatened to end our friendship. When I didn't budge, she escalated—sending angry texts, then reaching out to my relatives with lies to try to ruin our relationship. And still...I can't give her away. REASONS TO LIKE TOS SEASON THREE. It's definitely the weakest season of original Star Trek, with many bona fide cringeworthy moments in episodes like Spock's Brain, And the Children Shall Lead, and Turnabout Intruder. But there are also many reasons to enjoy it...

@SubcommanderT There is a laziness in the writing for And The Children Shall Lead. They have 2 security men stranded on the planet surface but no thought is given to going back to get them at the end of the episode.

How interesting could something like "And the Children Shall Lead" have been with better directing and a better guest star? The idea of children as a conduit for a malevolent dead civilization could've had a real Gothic horror element to it: the story idea is very creative...

@DavidRoylance @SubcommanderT Once I gathered that the concept was the thing in season 3 and that the characters and settings were more of a mythic vehicle and less of a literal minded representation to carry that concept I began to see the unappreciated genius of season 3.
