"We need more Boliver keychains!"
"We are out of Boliver keychains in the gift shop! Repeat, we are out out of Boliver keychains!"
"Mommy, buy me a keychain!"
"No! Now come along, Boliver!"
"Are you talking to me?"
"No, my son is also named Boliver."

@astro_jje I don't watch the show.
But I would imagine he's doing some Jack Black Stuff.
You know, acting the same way he always does in every show he's in.
Hopefully you can ignore him.
Maybe he'll be gone by the next episode.

@AFP This sounds way more complex than it should be.
Just crown the dude, or don't.

Britain's Royal Mail began selling the first postage stamps featuring the image of King Charles III on Tuesday, following his ascension to the throne in September u.afp.com/iBks

@mikewmott @Lucas_Jackson_ @nytimes @washingtonpost @latimes Did you have a dialup modem built into your computer when your were a kid?
Well, the acoustic coupler is the /grandfather/ of that modem device.
English

@mikewmott @Lucas_Jackson_ @nytimes @washingtonpost @latimes The "word processor" was basically a laptop-like device, but the "screen" was only a couple columns high.
Basically a "smart typewriter".
And this is an acoustic coupler:
It's meant to transmit data /very slowly/ over a public phone handset.

Here is how quick these photos have to move on a news wire. APs image was taken at 11:29 and sent over the wire at 11:36. The Reuters image was most likely taken at the same time and moved at 11:43. An AP image is front of @nytimes @washingtonpost & @latimes speed is HUGE.

@TheBaseLeg Australia is such an odd country.
They do what they do.
English

@Lucas_Jackson_ @nytimes @washingtonpost @latimes I yell at journalists a lot on twitter.
It's because my dad taught me, by example, what journalists /should/ do.
I have so many stories.
English

@Lucas_Jackson_ @nytimes @washingtonpost @latimes If you wanna look up my dad, google Robert Schenet.
He was very prominent on Knight Ridder and the Seattle Post Intelligencer.
I haven't googled him in over ten years, but I know that he was a prominent "World News editor", and his face was on buses.
He eventually died of cancer.
English

@Lucas_Jackson_ @nytimes @washingtonpost @latimes My 1980s dad sprinting to a phone booth to be the first guy to stick a dime in the telephone and plug the handset into his "laptop's" acoustic coupler?
No different from you all with your smartphones, trying to be "first".
I mean, it /is/ different.
But also kinda not.
English

@Lucas_Jackson_ @nytimes @washingtonpost @latimes Times were very different then, then they are now, but as they say, history doesn't repeat itself, it simply rhymes.

@smolrobots (In America, we don't have speed-camera-icon signs. We just have "SLOW THE FUCK DOWN" signs.)
