@DavidStandeven

Seventh best writer you've never heard of, grumpy grill dad, neoclassicist, neoromantic, Christian, and purveyor of niche historical things.

Hello there, it appears you found me. If you like sword and sorcery, clashing steel and harrowing escapes, then I'm your guy. I have a pirate adventure (a sequel to 'Hand that Wields the Sword') written but not yet published. Try one of my books out, or not. I'm not your dad.

“Christianity is a white religion.” I’m sure the Middle Eastern and North African peoples who were the first Christians would be interested to hear that story.

@PathOfMen_ I usually eat 2 (skipping breakfast, unless you count coffee). Lunch is my big calorie replenishment. Dinner exists so I go to bed satiated.

@lutheranpeasant I'm an Origenist as regards purgatory. We're all getting a dip in the sanitation chamber to free us from attachment to sin. And we will welcome it. No "indulgence" will get you to avoid it.

You’d think the “you’ll burn in purgatory for thousands of years” crowd would be more reticent to slander for the sake of clicks, but here we are.

@OrthodoxOrigen I remember a schizo sede who said you should always wear shoes in your house because it was true western culture and not oriental barbarism..... or something. It made me appreciate Indian Christians who remove shoes before entering church.

Exposure to 80-90 IQ TardCaths can turn even the most tasteful integralist into a secular shitlib. Pius IX had the good idea that integralism was itself supposed to be a sort of secret society, similar to masonry. Not for the vulgar masses.

@jondelarroz No, no it isn't. It drags in parts and takes to long to get to the point. It's also extremely derivative. The Hobbit, Count of Monte Cristo, and Prisoner of Zenda are all so much better.

The Great Gatsby does not teach a child about the world in which they will live. Fahrenheit 451, 1984, and Brave New World do.

I think a lot of problems in American Orthodoxy stems from the fact that many Americans are functionally illiterate and are afraid of reading anything written before 1970
