Today we honor all service members who gave the last full measure of devotion to defend our country. May their bravery and patriotism guide us on this solemn Memorial Day.

Wishing everyone a meaningful Shavuot. One of the most important holidays in Judaism, it commemorates the giving of the Torah and the foundation of Jewish life and tradition. Its message of responsibility, wisdom, and connection remains just as meaningful today.

We cannot tolerate hate of any kind and I strongly denounce any action targeting a house of worship. Jewish New Yorkers deserve to feel safe at home, at prayer, and in the community.

My office is aware of a planned "protest" this evening in the 24th Assembly District targeting the Young Israel of Jamaica Estates. I have been in contact with the @NYPD107Pct who will be deploying officers to keep the community safe.

I am deeply disturbed by this action that comes off the heels of multiple incidents of antisemitic vandalism and intimidation in Queens and throughout New York.

Wanted to wish everyone a Happy Mother’s Day weekend! Hope the weekend is filled with appreciation and time well spent with loved ones.

I've been made aware that FDNY has placed the incident "under control" and Fire Marshals will continue to investigate. NYC Buildings has issued a full vacate to the fire building and 107-53 130th St. NYPD remains on scene providing security and enforcing street closures.

I want to commend the professionalism and bravery of our first responders from the NYPD and New York City Fire Department (FDNY) whose quick actions saved lives and prevented further tragedy.

Eighty years after the end of WWII and the liberation of the camps, antisemitic incidents in the United States have reached record highs, with more than 9,300 reported in 2024 alone. Despite the rise in hate, we must remain united and stand against antisemitism in all its forms.

Today, we remember the six million Jews and the millions of innocent victims of the Holocaust, and we honor the survivors. We reflect on the unimaginable scale of that tragedy and the destruction of entire communities across Europe, where generations were lost to bigotry.
